What's better than a rototiller?

What?

Digging in the compost heap again?

What could possibly make you think I was digging in the compost heap?

Nope, not me, I was sitting here nice and calm all afternoon.

Woofs and Licks,

Calie the wonder-doodle

What a mess she is! I'm sure bathing her was a major chore.

Melanie, Calie and you cracked me up! Sometimes a picture really does tell a thousand words! LOL. . . LOL. . . LOL!

I'm so glad George isn't a digger. He did once go for a swim in my sister's pool cover though. . . in early spring, full of leaves and all smelly. Then I had to drive him home in my new car. (He got an impromtu bath first.) Dogs can get into so much trouble, and we love them anyway.

Calie is looking quite pleased with herself, amused, and even perhaps a little smug - not at all ashamed of her mischevious behavior. She's adorable, even when she needs a good washing!

What a great helper Calie is(-: Jack helps me a lot that way too. Then he wants to come in and take a nice nap in my bed...(-:

Since Calie weighs about 70 pounds now bathing her is not fun. Especially since she has decided to turn away from her water-dog heritage and she hates baths!

If the mud isn't too bad I have to hold her firmly and hose her down. Of course I have to stand close enough that I get splattered with that mud. Yesterday it was way too cold and damp for that so I filled a bucket with water and tried dipping her legs. It didn't work well. Luckily my husband made a second attempt as I went out and rustled up something to eat.

She does look happy, doesn't she? If only I could aim her at the spots I want dug.

Melanie, she is a adorable and much larger than I thought....aren't you lucky to have so much cute and she turns your compost!

Hmmm! A familiar sight, just a different dog! My compost heap is my pride and joy and Galahad, my yellow lab loves to do the same thing. Do you also have to mop the kitchen floor several times a day? Eleanor

How funny is that? I've been there before with my chocolate lab. Is she a labradoodle?

That is absolutely priceless! She looks like she had the best time of her life!

Yes, Calie is a Labradoodle. Her mom was 1/2 yellow lab and 1/2 standard poodle. Her dad was an extremely large standard poodle. The breeder decided to go back to all poodle so the puppies would be non-allergenic which is what we needed. Calie was the only puppy in the litter and she obviously got all the size genes because she's the biggest labradoodle at the dog park ever. Rarely is there any breed of dog larger than her and yet she is so non aggressive.

That is priceless. Abby gets like that occasionally, but she is a black and tan shepherd and it does not show as bad.

Calie is one cute 'doodle! That look on her face says it all!

I have a 90 pound black Lab, Rocky, that loves to 'garden', too! He gets a once-a-month trip to the doggy self-wash and brushing in between. Much to Rocky's dismay, we don't have nearly as much mud as Calie has!

What a great garden helper. Now you don't have to turn your pile since she's already done it for you, right? Too cute. I didn't have a compost pile before but it sure sounds like something Angel would do!
